CCCMC China President Xu Xu said on Thursday that China's iron ore imports are expected to be an increase of 6%. 

He said that at present the Ministry of Housing and Urban China in 2011 has the goal of building affordable housing increased to 

1,000 million sets, an increase of 72.4%. Taking into account the security of housing and economic development policy to 

expand consumption, the domestic market this year the total crude steel demand would be increased 4,000 million to 5,000 tons 

compared with 2011 year.

He said China's steel production in 2011 estimated 6.7 million tons. At the same time the steel industry this year based on p

roduction capacity and increasing production of basic judgments, the demand for iron ore will naturally increase. 

Prior to the customs data showed that in 2010 China imported iron ore 61,863 tons, down by 1.4%.
